Students celebrate hard-earned GCSE success
Students and staff at Ormiston Victory Academy are celebrating the achievements of its Year 11 students as they collect their GCSE results today.
We are celebrating the achievements of its students, who have shown resilience and ambition throughout their studies and are now preparing to take their next steps in education, training or employment.
This year’s cohort achieved particularly highly in challenging subjects such as English, Spanish, Mandarin and the individual sciences.
Whilst staff and parents are very proud of all young people, there have been some exceptional outcomes for individuals, including:
- Ioan, an excellent sportsman and academic, whose hard work was rewarded with an impressive six Grade 9s across a range of subjects including mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics.
- Poppy achieved nine Grade 9s across a range of subjects, including Spanish, economics and combined science, which earned her a well-deserved place at Norwich School, along with two other Victory students, to study for  A Levels.
- Aiden achieved five Grade 9s, including three in the triple sciences and mathematics and will continue these subjects at A LevelÂ
- Jake and Grace have both earned Sixth Form places in China after achieving top grades in Mandarin due to their commitment to their GCSE course and SWIRE partnerships programme.
Ormiston Victory Academy prioritises student happiness, safety, success and wellbeing at the centre of everything it does. As part of Ormiston, the school is dedicated to providing the highest quality education and ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, gains the skills and opportunities they need to thrive.
Naomi Palmer, Principal at Ormiston Victory Academy said:
“Today is a truly special day children, families, their teachers and the leaders who have coordinated their support – and we could not be prouder. Their results are a reflection of the hard work they have put in over the past five years, supported every step of the way by their friends, families and our wonderful staff, who have gone above and beyond to help every student fulfil their potential. They are a wonderful group of young people, and we wish each and every one of them every success as they take their next steps.”
Oliver Willis, Senior Assistant Principal at Ormiston Victory Academy said:
“I am thrilled for our students – they have achieved so well. We look forward to welcoming back many of them to Lord Nelson Sixth Form to study with us for the next 2 years and can’t wait to see what they achieve next.”
