Higher Education: the course provides a sound basis for progression to a range of HE courses to study for a career in Social Work, Nursing, Midwifery, Medicine, Physiotherapy, Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Operating Department Practice, Dentistry, Mental Health Nursing, Psychiatry, Psychology, Paramedics etc.
Employment: the units aim to maintain and support the recognised standards demanded for health and social care education and training in order to meet the requirements of the health and social care sectors in industry. Transfer to other service sector industries: students will develop transferable skills such as teamwork, effective communication, the ability to self-manage and an understanding of individual rights and responsibilities which will support work in other service sector industries.
