The academy runs both virtual and in-person Parents’ Evenings to allow the most amount of flexibility for all parents, carers and staff.
Virtual events allow you to conduct your appointments from the comfort of your own home, or even from your place of work. Parents and carers can join a single appointment from different locations, there is no need to park at the academy nor to arrange childcare. No apps are needed, just your web browser and this can be on a tablet, computer or mobile phone.
In-person events provide a different approach with the opportunity to visit the academy, often to see work produced by students, see other parents and carers and to attend additional extras like SEND or Careers drop-ins. We aim to have one face-to-face event per year group at the academy each academic year and these events range from the Settling in Evening in Year 7 to the Options Evenings which take place in Years 9 and 11.
Whether it be online or in-person, the academy uses an intuitive and easy-to-use booking system for Parents’ Evenings called School Cloud. This allows parents and carers to book and manage their own appointments; providing the option to choose your own appointment times with teachers and you will receive an email confirmation of this.
