Lord Nelson Sixth Form Students at Ormiston Victory Academy Celebrate ‘A’ Level Success

Students and staff at Lord Nelson Sixth Form College, part of Ormiston Victory Academy, are celebrating today after receiving their A Level results.

Students at the academy, which part of Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT), have achieved some great results which reflect the hard work and commitment shown throughout the past 2 years of their studies.

The results have enabled them to secure futures at their chosen universities, on exciting apprenticeships and as they move into excellent employment opportunities.

Standout achievements from across the academy include:

  • Amber Atkins, who has won a funded scholarship to the renowned CTC Studio College to study Performing Arts, gained double Distinction* in performing arts and A* in A Level art
  • Rio Hydon, who will study Global Development at the University of East Anglia, achieved A* in creative media, Distinction* in BTEC sport and B in A Level geography
  • Keketso Mokhothu, who will study Chemistry at the University of Manchester, gained A* in Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), A grades in both biology and chemistry and B in mathematics
  • Libby Simpson, who will study Criminology at the University of Durham, achieved double Distinction* in performing arts, an A* in criminology and A in A Level psychology
  • Nevan Varvadekar, who will read Law at the University of Nottingham, gained A* in creative media, A in A Level geography and B grades in mathematics and physics

The academy secured excellent results in A Level art and biology, where students achieved 100% A* to C grades. Students also performed well in BTEC performing arts, where 100% achieved double Distinction*/Distinction grades and in BTEC computing, where 100% of students achieved Distinction* to Merit.
